Wigan continue their preparation for next week's World Club Challenge with a 'warm up' against the New Zealand Warriors for whom former Wigan hero Sam Tomkins not face his former club due to his selection for the Auckland Nines.
The inaugural meeting between the two sides comes after a partnership they have struck up in recent years with former Wigan players Tomkins and Leuluai both in the NZ squad for 2014 and current General Manager Dean Bell a former Wigan hero from 1986-1994 including winning seven Challenge Cups.
Wigan have taken 27 players on the trip to Auckland of which 23 are named in the matchday squad with Jordan James, Sean O'Loughlin, Blake Green and Iain Thornley missing out while Wane has confirmed that Josh Charnley has successful recovered from injury and will start on the wing.
