After victories over Warrington and Bradford, Wigan U19s continued their 100% start to the season with a comfortable 34-12 win over Hull KR U19s.
The Warriors made a superb start with the opening try inside two minutes as Macauley Davies crossed after a clever move, Jake Shorrocks converted and the hosts led 6-0. The lead doubled in the 10th minute as Luke Waterworth registered an effort and with Shorrocks successful with the boot, Wigan now led 12-0. Liam Paisley and Jack Wells added further tries in the first half with Shorrocks converting both for a huge 24-0 lead at the interval.
Hull KR's comeback started superbly with two tries in the first five minutes of the second half as Cory Sanderson crossed ahead of a try from Joe Wardill with both converted by Ben Holdstock to reduce the deficit to 24-12. Despite the rapid start to the second half, the two tries were the last for the Robins who let the Warriors in on the hour mark as Jack Higginson crossed with Shorrocks converting for 30-12.
David Thompson rounded off the win for the Warriors with a try ten minutes from the end out on the wing which meant a tough angle for Shorrocks who missed the conversion resulting in a final score of 34-12.
