Wigan's Under 19's returned to action after a week off as they took on Hull Under 19's at the Solid Strip Community stadium.
Both sides featured players with reasonable Super League experience with Wigan fielding the trio of Ben Austin, Ryan Sutton and Jamie Doran while Hull fielded Callum Lancaster who has been a shining star recently for the senior squad with eight tries in five appearances.
An even start for the two sides saw them both have good chances to score the opening try but it was Wigan who crossed for the game's opening score as Ryan Sutton picked out Jamie Doran to cross for a the try with Jake Shorrocks converting for 6-0.
Ryan Sutton crossed for a try of his own just five minutes later and Jake Shorrocks duly converted for a second time as Wigan now led 12-0 but Hull seemed unable to respond with an end product and went into the half-time interval 16-0 down after a try from Oliver Gildart in the 30th minute increased the lead but Jake Shorrocks was unable to convert from a tough angle.
Wigan began the second half superbly as Kieran Sherratt scored a well-worked try and Jake Shorrocks made up for his previous miss with a good conversion for a 22-0 lead. Hull did well to quell the Wigan charge and came close to scoring themselves but the Wigan defence held firm.
Two tries in as many minutes saw Wigan secure the win as David Thompson crossed ahead of Kieran Sheratt's second score of the afternoon with Jake Shorrocks converting once from the two conversion attempts for a 32-0 lead.
The gloss on the win came in the final minute as Jack Higginson crossed for the Warriors seventh try of the afternoon and Jake Shorrocks added the conversion for a personal tally of 10 points and with the final hooter sounding, the young Warriors had completed a 38-0 nil win and their first 'nilling' of a side this season.
