The Women's Super League Shield reached Round Two with Featherstone Rovers Ladies being the odd one out this week and as such having the week's rest.
Wire Trounce Trinity
Warrington Wolves Women bounced back from their opening round loss with a comfortable 76-0 win over Wakefield Trinity Ladies at Victoria Park. The Wolves took a huge 40-0 lead into the interval after a first half treble from Georgia Sutherland, brace from Sammy Simpson and scores from Abi Johnston, Charlie Magraw, Hollie Jones and Michelle Davis with Davis adding three conversions.
Simpson completed her hat-trick after the interval with Sutherland crossing for her fourth soon after and a rapid Claire Mullaney treble as the Wolves continued to dominate and with Armani Sharrock and Emily Downs crossing late on, the hosts eased to a 76-0 final score.
Giants Glory Against Battling Bulls
Huddersfield Giants Women extended their perfect start to the Shield campaign with a 32-10 win over Bradford Bulls Women at Lockwood Park on Tuesday evening. Hudds opened the scoring with Izzy Northrop crossing ahead of an effort from Erin Stott with Frankie Townend adding a conversion for 10-0. Bradford hit back with a try from Hannah Donald but would go into the interval 20-4 behind as Amelia Brown and Bethan Oates touched down with Townend adding a conversion.
The second half began with Oates claiming her second try with Brown crossing for 28-4. Cara Cookland crossed to cut the gap for the Bulls but their hopes were dashed as Brown complete her hat-trick to wrap up the 32-10 win.
