Another split post as Round 13 reached eventual completion after Catalans Dragons/Hull KR agreed to play due to their Round 15 games against Castleford Tigers/St Helens being postponed.
Giants Glory In Halting Hull FC
The round opened on Thursday as Huddersfield Giants returned to winning ways with a 40-26 win over Hull FC at the John Smith's Stadium. Hull opened the scoring inside four minutes through Carlos Tuimavave with Marc Sneyd converting for 6-0. Hudds hit back rapidly with tries from Jermaine McGillvary and Nathan Peats with an Oliver Russell conversion putting them 10-6 ahead. Hull regained the lead with scores from Miteli Vulikijapani and Jordan Lane and a Sneyd conversion for 16-10. The lead changed hands again as Hudds cut the gap and then went into the interval 22-16 ahead after tries from Luke Yates, Will Pryce and a second for McGillvary.
McGillvary completed his hat-trick soon after the restart with Russell kicking to extend the advantage to 28-16 before Vulikijapani claimed his second score for 28-20. A fourth score from McGillvary (Russell conv) looked to put Hudds out of sight and they were for sure when Leroy Cudjoe marked his 300th appearance with a try which Russell improved for 40-20. The final say went to Hull as Chris Satae crossed late on with Sneyd converting for a 40-26 final score.

The ongoing threat of the COVID pandemic saw Warrington Wolves' trip to face Leigh Centurions postponed leaving the Centurions still waiting for their first win of the season.
Bibby's Warrior Treble Topples Trinity
Friday's action began at the DW Stadium as Wigan Warriors sealed consecutive home wins with a 25-12 success over Wakefield Trinity. A close first half saw Wigan lead 9-0 at the interval after a Jake Bibby brace and last-gasp drop goal from Jackson Hastings.
Bibby completed his hat-trick early in the second half with Harry Smith converting for 15-0 lead before improving a Joe Shorrocks try for 21-0. Liam Marshall crossed to wrap up the win on the hour at 25-0 before a late rally from Wakefield saw James Batchelor and Jay Pitts both touch down with Mason Lino converting twice for a 25-12 final score.
Rhinos Rout Red Devils
Friday's other action came from Emerald Headingley Stadium as Leeds Rhinos eased to a 38-16 win over Salford Red Devils. Leeds raced into a 20-0 first half advantage as Harry Newman crossed ahead of a brace from Kruise Leeming with Rhyse Martin converting the lot and adding a penalty goal.
Salford got off the mark with a Ken Sio try for 20-4 before Leeds resumed their spree with Callum McLelland and King Vuniyayawa crossing and Martin converting twice for 32-4. Salford stemmed the spree with ex-Rhinos half Tui Lolohea crossing and Krisnan Inu converting for 32-10. Leeds wrapped up the win with Matt Prior's try which Martin improved for 38-10. The final say of the evening when to Inu as he crossed and converted for a 38-16 final score.
Catalans Comeback As Robins Return
After several different instances for the six matches, Round 13 saw completion on Saturday at Stade Gilbert Brutus as Catalan Dragons extended their stay at the top with a third consecutive comeback win as they edged a 32-30 win over a Hull Kingston Rovers side playing their first match in a month.
The Robins opened the scoring with a self-converted score from Jordan Abdull for 6-0 before Matt Whitley crossed and Arthur Mourgue converted to level at 6-6. Shaun Kenny-Dowall restored the lead for KR with Abdull converting for 12-12 but again the Dragons replied as Sam Tomkins crossed and Mourgue converted. Abdull made it 14-12 win a penalty goal before improving efforts from Greg Minikin and Adam Quinlan for a huge 26-12 half-time advantage.
As with their previous two games, Catalans mounted a comeback with Whitley claiming his second try but KR hit back with Abdull's second score for 30-18. The Dragons were unstoppable from there with Mickael Goudemand and Fouad Yaha both crossing with Mourgue levelling the score at 30-30 with two conversions. He sealed the win with a sixth success of the afternoon with the boot for 32-30.
