Leeds Rhinos Women secured a semi-final spot with a comfortable 40-0 win over Warrington Wolves Women at Weetwood Sports Park. The Rhinos opened the scoring with three rapid tries before the half hour mark as Georgia Roche, Caitlin Beevers and Chloe Kerrigan all crossed with Sam Hulme converting all but the latter for a 16-0 lead that lasted into the interval.
Fran Goldthorp crossed within four minutes of the restart for 20-0 before a self- converted score from Hulme increased the lead to 26-0. The Rhinos wrapped up the win with tries from Orla McCallion and Sophie Nuttall which saw Hulme add a conversion before rounding off with a second self-converted try for a 40-0 final score.
Hardcastle Treble Sees Saints Halt Hudds Hopes
St Helens Women extended their pursuit of consecutive titles with a 24-0 victory over Huddersfield Giants Women at the Totally Wicked Stadium. The Saints flew out of the blocks with Amy Hardcastle crossing for 4-0 inside ten minutes and the lead became 10-0 just six minutes later with a self-converted effort from Zoe Harris. Saints would hold a 20-0 lead into the interval though as Carrie Roberts crossed ahead of a second score from Hardcastle which Harris converted.
The second half proved to be a closer contest with just a single score which came from Hardcastle crossing for her hat-trick try within four minutes of the restart and Hudds held the hosts out further from there for the 24-0 final score.
York City Knights Ladies eased into the semi-finals with a comfortable 92-2 win over Oulton Raidettes at the LNER Community Stadium. The hosts started perfectly with Tara-Jane Stanley crossing for a try in the opening minute and converting for 6-0. Rhiannion Marshall and Savannah Andrade both crossed with Stanley converting for 18-0 inside ten minutes. Tries from Grace Field, Olivia Wood and Hollie Dodd and a second from Stanley saw the full-back add three conversions for a huge 40-0 lead by the half hour mark. The advantage into the interval was 52-0 as Stanley wrapped up her hat-trick and converted after Sinead Peach crossed.
The spree resumed within a minute of the restart as Tamzin Renouf touched down ahead of a second score from Andrade which Olivia Whitehead improved for 62-0. Ashleigh Hyde and Emma Kershaw went in ahead of a fourth for Stanley who resumed kicking duties for 76-0 and bringing her personal tally for the day to 34 points. Olivia Gale opened her account for York as the tie entered the final ten minutes and Oulton finally got off the mark with Caitlin Casey kicking a penalty goal for 80-2. The hosts resumed control by rounding off the win with second scores from Hyde and Field with Whitehead converting both for a whopping 92-2 final score.
Rovers Rise Against Wounded Warriors
The final of the round saw Featherstone Rovers Ladies edge a 12-10 win over Wigan Warriors Women at the Millennium Stadium. A perfect start for the hosts saw debutant Natt Carr cross for a 4-0 lead inside seven minutes with another debutant in Kerrie Evans going over to level at 4-4 with 17 minutes played. Wigan went ahead with a superb dashing try and conversion from Georgia Wilson for 10-4 but were pegged back by Brogan Churm's try which Katie Hepworth converted to send the sides into the interval level at 10-10.
The second half saw the tie settled by a single score as indiscipline from the Warriors led to a penalty goal on 54 minutes which Hepworth swept over for 12-10 and the lead remained until the end to complete the lineup for the last four.
